All the materials excluding the freshwater pearls are 18k gold plated brass. This includes the huggie hoops and the threaders. To maintain it's endurance it's recommended removing your jewelry upon exposure to water (such as showering, swimming, exercising, hot tubs). Perfume, oil, sunscreen, sweat and cleaning products may also have an effect. 

Gold plated jewelry is water resistant. However it is normal for the items to oxidize or lose their gloss over time as it isn't solid gold, avoid this by following the steps above.
